Last weekend, my roommate and I returned our flat back to the landlord. She wanted us to replace a sofa that had a broken spring, even though it was already broken when we got it and it was noted in the contract. She thought we made the sofa worse. We argued with her about it for over an hour. FMCL.

Yesterday I got a text message from a student: "darling:-Pimissyouverymuch;-(iwantyoutogivemeacard,ok?furthermore,iwanttohaveabighugwithyou:-)tomorrowisallright?" She never uses spaces in her messages. I know she means well and is sweet, but it's always awkward. I call her Student Jerry. FMCL

Last year, on New Years Eve, my friends and I went clubbing. It was a good night, I was dancing with two beautiful Chinese, and we even kissed. Before it was midnight 2011, I discovered my Windows phone was gone, and so were the girls. FMCL

Last week, I parked my electric bike for the first time off campus, just 3 meters away from the campus guards to get the last metro into town. The next day when I wanted to pick it up, the battery was stolen, and no one saw anything. The new battery was 800 kuai. FMCL

Last week the building next to mine briefly caught on fire from fireworks, so the people in the courtyard stopped setting off new ones. I thought it was for safety reasons; really they were just too busy gawking at the fire. MCLIA

Last week, I got jumped outside of Mix by 4 Chinese guys. When I called the police to report the incident, the only thing the cops cared about was which country I was from. After talking to them for 45 minutes.. no cops showed up. FMCL
